Product Description

Padmasambhava what literally means “Lotus-Born”), also known as Guru Rinpoche, was an 8th-century Buddhist master. His origination is still not clear. Some legends say he was from India, but some points on other country (probably one of Arabian). Although there was a historical Padmasambhava, nothing is known of him apart from helping the construction of the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet at Samye, at the behest of Tibetan king Trisong Detsen, and shortly thereafter leaving Tibet due to court intrigues. A number of legends have grown around Padmasambhava’s life and deeds, and he is widely considered as a “second Buddha” in Tibetan branch of buddhism.

Unlike most statues made for the tourists, all the details of this statue — such as the hands, face, etc — are made very carefully and in the details.

This finely carved statue of Padmasambhava made in Kham province (Eastern Tibet). Each statue has some space inside to be filled by traditional way. This hole is closed by cover.
